The cafe's mission is to "buy fresh, buy local". Their food is made from fresh, organic, locally-grown ingredients. Their specialty is their baking (peanut butter pie with a chocolate truffle topping, key lime pie, sweet potato pie with a crispy pecan topping to name a few), but they also offer a lunch and dinner menu (their quiche is delicious).
To get to Under the Oak from Elkins Park, make a left onto Cheltenham Avenue off of 611, and then a right onto East Oak Lane. They are on the left-hand side of the Oak Lane bridge. If you are coming from Philadelphia, they are located one block north of 66th Avenue, between N. 10th and N. 8th Street.
